Queen of Katwe: Phiona Mutesi

I have a colleague/friend, who is crazy about marathon races (Yinka, am still going to do the Disney Princess Half Marathon, o!) and he loves CHESS!!! He is always sending stuffs on Chess, which are really cool to read. But this one struck my interest.....PHIONA MUTESI!

Phiona Mutesi is a Ugandan Chess player. Her story is what you call "from grass to grace". Like Donald Miller the author of  'Blue Like Jazz' said, "It is always the simple things that change our lives...This is how God does things" *smiles*

CNN has carried her story. A book has been written about her. Disney is currently doing a movie on her. She is currently the youngest person ever to win the African chess championship. Who says the "under-dog" can't be the "Queen" one day? *wink*

Do take check out her website: Queen of Katwe
