Organizing an event is one thing. Praying for the event to be a success is another thing. IGNITE 2012 ROCKED!!!!! And we, Nu Nations, give God ALL the glory!

IGNITE is a Singles Dinner which plans to hold every year. It is organized by Nu Nations, a Christian Youth Group which is under the umbrella of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG). IGNITE aims at bringing singles under one roof where they could 'mingle' and 'jingle' with one another and if God has it...even meet their future spouse there *wink*

The first edition of IGNITE, themed "Make That Move Right Now", held on Saturday 18th February, 2012 at Lagoon Resturuant. At about 7pm, guests were already seated...though more were still on their way. The event commenced with an opening prayer, then the MC of the day, Emeka Smith and the Nu Nation's Programme Coordinator, Dami Aloba, broke the ice by mingling people with those they do not know. Games such as 'HITCH', derived from the movie titled HITCH starring Will Smith & Eva Mendes, where the opposite sexes, both single females and singles males, who do not know each other would ask one another questions about themselves in about 5 minutes, then move to the next person to do the same. The other game was "Angel's Questions", where guests answered questions concerning relationships and marriage. A bowl with plenty "single-like questions" was passed randomly for guest to pick and answer. Guest who did'nt pick were allowed to answer questions too. The dancing competition was one of the 'heights' of the event. Two couples, that is two men and two women, who didn't know themselves won N10,000 (Ten Thousand Naira) each.

The most anticipated event of the day was the raffle draw. Winners left with a microwave courtesy Nu Nations, a dinner for two courtesy Delta Kitchen, FREE wedding gown courtesy Nwando's Signature, FREE wedding cake courtesy Unique Patolitos and a Honeymoon package to Dubai courtesy Nu Nations. All the winners were thrilled!!! Congratulations to the lucky winners!

The day concluded with one of the Nu Nations' Executive, who gave a brief summary of what Nu Nations was all about and the plans it has for 2012. The event ended with a closing prayer. Then guest left the venue dancing away and with a give-away pack courstey Honeywell.

I have to give it to the Courage Band! They thrilled the guest with sensational songs which set the perfect mood for the event. More grease to their elbow! *thumbs up*

Next year IGNITE would definitely ROCK more than this years in Jesus name....AMENNN!!!

CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2012

I heard my brothers shouting with joy, so I ran to their room....Zambia had just won the CAF Africa Cup of Nations Cup!!! Ofcourse, I joined them to jubilate! Zambia's National football team known as The Chipolopolo (the Copper Bullets), won their very first continental title in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, climbing to 43rd position in the latest FIFA/Coca-Cola World Ranking.

Finally, just like the 2010 World Cup, where Spain won their very first World Cup, a new nation emerged as the winner of the 2012 CAF Africa Cup of Nations. Was getting tired of seeing the "same people" winning....wanted new "blood" and Zambia did themselves proud by carrying the CAF cup.

Just nineteen years ago, in 1993, eighteen members of the Zambian National Football team where killed in a plane crash while heading for their FIFA World Cup Qualifier against Senegal in Dakar. The Chipolopolo won the Africa Cup of Nations in Libreville, only a few hundred metres inland from the crash site and was dedicated to the ones who lost their lives in the tragedy.

Well done, Chipolopolo! You have made your nation proud!!!!

Solution providers are not poor for money follows people. It is our desire to influence the patterns of leadership from Nigeria. We are on a rescue mission as rescue remedies. Welcome to this online forum where ideas, networks are built for change. Welcome the CU Alumni Association... Soaring is what we do!"

That's what you would find on my university's alumni group on facebook *smiles*

Last week Saturday, 4th February, 2012, my CU girlfriends and I got dressed and drove off to the Events Centre in Ikeja, Lagos for our alumni's madien edition Lagos Launch. Abuja Chapter was launched some months ago.

My very good friend, Shola Olulana was contesting for the post of the "Deputy Co-ordinator". And though she lost to another friend of ours, Taiwo Adediran (am still beefing you, Taiwo), would like to say am very proud of my girl! Way to go, Sholly! And congrats, Taiwo *smiles* Congrats to every other person that was elected for the other posts. Looking foward to seeing CU Eagles make more impact in Lagos and the world as we were destined to!

My dear Shola Olulana

It was great seeing old faces that I've not seen since graduation and since like forever! Well done, CUAA Officials!

*In my thoughts: "Maybe I'd contest in the next elections"* (grinning)

My Sky Diver Hero!

I've been telling people that I'll go sky diving one day. As usual everyone thinks am going nuts. Well, my sky diving dream has been awoken!

Last weekend I watched a movie called "The Bucket List" starring Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman. And that stirred up my sky diving dream. The movie also reminded me of my love for travels....*smiles*. Then to top it all up, a university basket-ball mate of mine went sky diving recently and that made me say "I'm going Sky Divinggggg!!!"

Life is only lived once...EXPLORE IT!!!! So go sky diving! *wink*
A friend of mine described it as "...basking in the adrenaline of unplanned events" *Smiles at Eim*

David Oamen, you are my sky diving hero!!!! Way to go!!!!
