Who Tried to Move My Cheese???

We all hate change....especially when we are so comfortable with where we are.
Ok....let me rephrase....we are all afraid of change because we are so comfortable with where we are. I mean...for example.....your job. You have gotten so used to what you do that you are so comfortable with it. When a promotion or a redeployment comes your way, you freak out! Why? Because your comfort zone has been altered!!! Hmmmm.....

Changes are happening in my life everyday-work, self-discovery, spiritually and much more. It's good.....but sometimes I do freak out because it means I would have to leave my comfort zone.

I was introduced to a book by a friend of mine titled "Who Moved My Cheese".
After reading this book (which does not take up to an hour to read...if you are not distracted), my life changed!!! Yes.....I began to see change as a way of moving ahead to be a better person. Come on....you'd agree with me that, if you remain where you are, you would never see the best of YOU!!!!

"Who Moved My Cheese" is about four characters living in a "Maze" who face unexpected change when they discover their "Cheese" has disappeared. Sniff and Scurry, who are mice, and Hem and Haw, little people the size of mice, each adapt to change in their "Maze" differently. In fact, one doesn't adapt at all.

"This timeless allegory reveals profound truths to individuals and organizations dealing with change. We each live in a "Maze", a metaphor for the companies or organizations we work with, the communities we live in, the families we love places where we look for the things we want in life, "Cheese". It may be an enjoyable career, loving relationships, wealth, or spiritual peace of mind. With time and experience, one character eventually succeeds and even prospers from the change in his "Maze". In an effort to share what he has learned along the way, he records his personal discoveries on the maze walls, the "Handwriting on the Wall". Likewise, when we begin to see the "writing on the wall", we discover the simplicity and necessity of adapting to change."

We all can learn from the "Handwriting on the wall"-
Change Happens - They Keep Moving The Cheese
Anticipate Change - Get Ready For The Cheese To Move
Monitor Change - Smell The Cheese Often So You Know When It Is Getting Old
Adapt To Change Quickly - The Quicker You Let Go Of Old Cheese, The Sooner You Can Enjoy New Cheese
Change - Move With The Cheese
Enjoy Change! - Savor The Adventure And Enjoy The Taste Of New Cheese!
Be Ready To Change Quickly And Enjoy It Again & Again - They Keep Moving The Cheese.

Both you and me can learn from this short but powerful story. Who are you?
"Sniff", who sniffs for change and moves to find it?
"Scurry", who rushes toward change and embraces it?
"Hem", who is so afraid of change and refused to move ahead? Or......
"Haw", who was once afraid of change but later changed his attitude and embraced change with courage?

These four kinds of personalities can be found anywhere.....It's important to know that change is inevitable...it would always occur. For example, we had the Stone Age, the Middle Age, the Modern Age and now we have the Technology Age. Life keeps changing and we have to learn to change with it or you would be left behind. Do you want that?

I found a small clip of the "Who Moved My Cheese" movie. Enjoy and LEARN!!!
